The View From Here is a project at the intersection of verbatim play and exhibition - attempting to provide a more objective lens to the history of the Grandview Training School for Girls in Cambridge, Ontario. The play is formed out of verbatim texts from interview transcripts, historical documents, and the playwright’s personal archival footage. It follows the playwright and her research as she meets a survivor of the school whose life begins to parallel her own, despite their differing experiences with the building.
